I really like the way on the road is not really about road planning and building. This book is a metaphor. If you don’t like metaphors, this book is not for you. Maybe you would prefer Road Design (Advances in Transport) M. K. Jha, P. Schonfeld, J-C Jong, E. Kim or Fundamentals of Road Design by W. Kuhn. This book is a metaphor that resonates in the hearts of white college students that read this book and rate it 5 stars. They smoke pot and get drunk and travel south a couple of times, maybe even write poetry, but it’s only a metaphor, it is not russian XIXth scentury realism because they don’t really have to starve or wash dishes to buy their pot and beer, their parents give them money to do it.
